Our expereince at Falaffel King
Tonight my husband and I went out to dinner, normally Friday night we do and I never prepare anything. I am getting over a stomach flue, and I was finally hunger tonight. My husband had suggest a couple of places but where all to heavy on foods. My stomach is still easily irritated. I have a serious allergy to pork products so it is hard to find places where I don’t have to explain about the allergy. I hate doing that to people but it has to be done and most places are willing to work with us very few have turned us away. Some have told me about 90 percent of their menu I couldn’t order. At Falafel King they had no pork products so that made my life a lot easier, they did have beef and shrimp. I do not eat Beef because it simple don’t agree it’s a mild allergy, so I try to avoid to. Shrimp I do not eat because I eat according to the dietary laws in Torah.
My husband and I don’t normally try new places we have our set places we go, but the last month we have tried 2 new places and each ended up being good for us. At Falafel King, they where nice from the beginning, first we wanted to look at a menu and then decide from there, because we can tell quickly when a place just simple do not work. We decided to try it, I felt so under dressed. I was wearing a pear of black sweats that where not exactly clean, I was being a slob. I don’t feel good so why worry.
When we walked into the restaurant there was music playing and they had a flat screen TV to the left of the door, it just felt really welcoming in there. They had a belle dancer there to never been to a restaurant quite like this one. We where seated at a near by table, and was lift with our menus, I asked for water and got some soda water. I don’t like it but my husband does so no big deal.
I had ordered the Falafel King combo, it was 2 very large falafels, to big for me to easily fit into my mouth, I think I had about 3 or 4 bites off of each balls, 2 rice rolls wrapped in grape leaves, 2 different types of deeps one was hummas the other I am not sure what it was any more but it had a egg plant base. It was very good. I will say this is the first restaurant that I actually ate the tomatoes on my plate, anyone who knows me, knows I will not eat tomatoes unless I hand picked them but those tomatoes looked really good and they were, and there were about 8 pita bread thingys. Overall my dinner was feeling and not to spice or acidic for me to be able to handle and there was no meat neither, I think this is the earliest meal I have had this week.
My husband had a Lamb Beef pita thing, with large fries and some dip he didn’t touch. He said he liked the iceberg lettuce which normally he don’t. He seemed to enjoy his meal and at it all but that dip stuff. I would say there food was great. There costumer service was good to.
What I did not like about the place is that they put me underneath a speaker with the music and it was loud but not unbearable, and he did ask if it was okay, and I said yes. I think the speaker caused him trouble with me because the music was in a range where my voice pretty easily blends in. Overall there was nothing bad that happened from the speaker being right over head.
At one point I was pretty shocked at what there dancer was doing she was dancing with a sword on top of her head. Don’t worry she told me it was not a sharp sword. I wish I could do something like that but I am sure someone or my self would turn into a kabob if I tried. She even invited costumers to join her in dancing which don’t happen in a lot of places with the staff. She was a very kind young woman, I am assuming I am older then her by several years because she looked pretty young. I think my favorite thing to see there was her dancing with that sword! The food was good too, and we where amazed how much we spend it was a less then we have spent at other places which are well not like them.
