I have to start by saying I love Kaim voice, it is very different then most warrior voices. It gentle sounding almost, and not what you would expect in a game like Lost Odyssey. Kaim is one of the Immortal people in the game, he ends up with his grandchildren, toward the end of disk one. I have to admit I almost cried at that one, Kaim and so fair Seth has had dreams of their past they had their memories, so they recall after you get your first dream Kaim remember a lot of memories.
Personally I think they made the stores very hard to read! At times I have had to just skip the story because my eyes can not see the white on light gray or light brown or some of the other colors. I do not think they where to worried about their readers actually reading their stories. If they want their reader reading the story maybe they would have made it easier to read. This is my biggest dislike with the game! It is a struggle to read the words, because of the background and text color. The stories that I been able to read are good, I kind of wish they would have had the character reading the story more like they where living through it again.
This is a action and turn base style game, normally I don’t much like the turn base games, they are few and far between when I like them. I like action mostly so I wouldn’t have mind if they made the freedom to walk around more in the forest or mountain area, but there was enough around to let you search enough. The battle system is a different to get used to. When you have on your rings, you have to release or hit the right bottom button, in order to get a good, prefect or bad in your attack power, for my mortal character prefect isn’t much different then bad, on some enemies. Now there are a few enemies that is it best to kill them with magic before they block all your magic abilities, these enemies normally start showing up after you get Mack and Cooke in your group. They are good magic user, but have very low HP and very low attacks for the most. The stronger attacks physical attacks come from the immortal and the stronger Magic attacks come from the Mortal. My formation has 2 immortal in front and one in back and then 1 of each in the back but it depends if I have mack or cooke in my party where I put who. It best to normally keep your weak characters in back because then they are protected. Ming is good with magic attacks too.
There was one battle I felt the need to tell my husband it best to be at a level 18, or higher and take out the little bugs and magic attack the big ugly worm thing with Jansen, while making sure you stay healed up and then round 2 the same thing. There are a few fun little puzzles in this game, and a few things where town people will ask you to do something for them, these are some fun little side quest.
Lost odyssey has good graphics, the people actually look like people. Monsters all look different, some look similar to other monsters in similar games but it is different. This is a game full of a story, and can suck you into the time wrap of gaming.
