Loves Unfolding Dream

It’s seems every movie from the Come Softly Series, someone getting married or dies. All of the movies are good for family viewing. I believe the movies are in the late 1800 to early 1900. There is no cursing or violence in the movies. Today my husband and I watched “Loves Unfolding Dream”.
This movie was about Belinda, the adoptive girl from the orphanage. She wants to be a doctor but the town doctor at first don’t think that a good idea. The mind set of most of the people in that town was that the woman should not be working but at home having children. A Lawyer comes to deal with a property he just inherited from a uncle.
Belinda finally gets her chance to work for the town doctor, and eventually finds out how hard being a doctor will be. She ends up being a caretaker for a well to do in bittered woman. This woman ends up being a challenge but eventually decides that Belinda is called to be a doctor and pays for her way through college. How sweet. You’ll have to watch the movie to find out who gets married, but I recommend starting with Movie one and working through to the last movie.
The lawyer guy helps a husband of a woman become the legal dad of her son. This is how he found out that serving as a lawyer he could do a lot of good for more then just the clients who could pay him. By the time he was done doing the paper work and everything, his house was all fixed up and ready to be sold. Back then they didn’t have mortgage lenders, he decided to sale the house to the couple with the child who he did the paper work for.
I really enjoy this series because it is deep in faith but it not so down your throat with religion that it is annoying.

I loved this movie and think Janette Oke is an amazing writer. Can you believe it was such a big deal that Belinda wanted to just be a doctor. I had to have a long conversation with my daughter when she asked, “Mommie, why don’t they want her to be a doctor?”

    Go Belinda, go!

  2. I thought that was great too, I hope your daughter was encouraged to try to be what ever she wants to be no matter what any one says.
