You know some days it feels like the whole world might be against you. I was on my way home to meet my husband, and I got a phone call from my temp company. Well I decided to talk to them about the job they where offering me while driving suddenly my tire Popped. Great, just what I need it was close to 6pm and you know those places all close right around there. Just lovely, I told the person I was speaking with my tire just blew I need to go and call someone to replace the tire and rudely hung up. At the time I was in thick traffic in the left lane so I needed to be off the phone to get my self over to the right lane.
I called 411, some days I think they are my best friend expecially when I need help now. Before I called I did start the preparations for taking the tire off and putting on the spare. I looked down at what I was wearing and said to my self wait a minute, you idiot you can’t change a tire in your business clothes and in a dress this isn’t going to work, with out damaging my clothes. I called Discount tires which I was about three miles away from, before going there I decided it would be wise to get some of that stuff that fills the tire not a good idea it did not work. I was talking to the guy and he told me they closed at 6pm, I said I would try to get there before and he asked me how long it would take me to get there I told him I be there at a few minutes after 6pm. He told me not to worry, he would stay open for me. Wow this is one of the few times companies have been willing to wait to help a person.
I got there, I ended up driving the van with the flat tire. Now I am a very text book driver, I turned on my hazard but kept as close to the speed as safely possible which wasn’t hard on the street because of it’s low speed but still felt the need for hazards on.
I had arrived to Discount tires at a few minutes before 6pm. Now I ran from my van to Target which was about 2 city blocks and then ran through the store and back to my van. I tried to get the stupid tire stuff to work but it just didn’t work. Now I have a problem because I am not going to get a tow for 3 miles not if it’s going to cost me 120 bucks. I just had the Hubcenter replaced on that side. I know the Tire wasn’t very good, but I was hoping it would wait until I got a more stable job.
The gentle man who waited on me did a very good job. He told me not to worry, I was very stressed out! I was upset, today I had a pretty good day and after my interview and talking to my temp company who was offering me a job that they offered the other day then placed someone else. Maybe this is a oman not to take the job considering my luck with the company but oh well. Well Discount tires got the van done and stayed later to help me in the end I only had to spend 67 bucks and got to see how bad my tire was, I am blessed I didn’t jump on the highway. Now I know my left tire needs replacing within the next 2000 miles maybe with my next pay check I will do that.
Discount tires has a very good recipes for keeping and gaining new customers. They took the time out to help me in a time of need, and now tomorrow if I get called to go to this on the job interview I can go and not worry. I am glad because with my end of the they where a reliever to stress and I am glad they where.
