It’s been a while since my husband and I have been able to eat Mexican. Don’t get me wrong, we love the food but sometimes restaurants add pork products in what they call veg beans. Over the past 2 years since we have leaved in Bloomington, we have passed this restaurant several times. It’s right near Best Buy which I think is my husband favorite place to be, and Borders which I think that’s mine sometimes.
We got in and asked to see a menu and I asked my questions about their beens. The waiter assured me their would be no problems and he warn me away from anything that would contain pork products. This helps me our a lot. He was a very polite and nice young man.
We had our food delivered to us. I had ordered a deep fried thing I want to see with chicken and cheese dip, it tasted very good. The presentation of the food wasn’t the greatest but it wasn’t bad. It looked and smelled good.
My husband got white chicken chili he ordered. He tasted it before adding salt on it, I almost wondering if us cutting down on Sodium has help him. When he tasted the soup he told me it was salted aggressively. I asked him, if it was okay. I have no problems sending back food that isn’t prepared correctly. He said yes, they salted it enough so I don’t have to salt. That being the case had I order the chili, I probably wouldn’t have like it as much as he did. I am not a huge fan of bunches of salt. I put a tiny bit in my cooking and let the natural flavoring do their work.. I do use different spices.
I really enjoyed our time over their this week. My husband and I needed a chance to sit down and talk and share our hearts or minds. We needed to have less pressure because of everything going on. I love cooking but sometimes it’s nice to have someone else do it. I think we where both missing Mexican food to.
Sometimes I wonder if a waitress job is similar to
admin jobs. I have work for a while as a admin and sometimes it seems like waitstaff at restaurants are taking their fair share of notes and orders. I would recommend this little restaurant to anyone, even people with children. It seemed like a very friendly place with the young ones who where there.
