Hy-vee

Yesterday my husband and I went down to his parents. I am not sure I have said much on her but his mom has cancer, so we are going to be making a serious effort to get down there more often. We stopped at Hy-Vee in Austin to pick up some French Bread to go with our Spaghetti dinner.
We walked passed the bakery and saw a bunch of different flavored brownies. My husband and I thought it might be nice to bring some brownies also but it was hard to pick which brownies we wanted. We got a mint, a cherry, a german chocolate, a fudge and a peanut butter. We decided to have a small taste of almost every single brown. Man they was yummy, as good as they looked. The mint brownie was my favorite one and my second favorite one was the german chocolate or maybe it was the caramel, had to pick the number to best.
The girl at the bakery was very happy to help us out, and get us the brownies we needed. While their I got some dehydrated berries and Bandanna chips. We also remember to pick up our French bread. My husband dad likes the garlic cheese bread, so that what I brought. Now my only question is what happened to the cheese on the bread.
I just about ruined the french bread by using the Broiler in a gas stove, that’s what mom and dad told me to use. Well it’s been a long time using gas stove, like over 15 years I want to say. I was able to heat my spaghetti sauce, but the bread was pretty black. My husband and his dad still wanted to eat it I hope they didn’t to make me feel better. It was burned and I didn’t expect them to eat it. Next time I cook garlic bread I will know not to use what I did.
My husband and I got a 5 cent off of gas coupon but weren’t able to use it because my tank was already full and we needed to fill up closer to the city, so this week I would have enough gas to get back and forth to work and church.
I know that my husband and I will need to go down to mom and dad’s more often, so we will probably go their more often, and maybe I won’t worry so much about filling up on the way down.
Hopefully I won’t get laid off again or it won’t take my job forever to place me at a new place. I wonder what Atlanta resumes does.

Our expereince at Golden Wok

Tonight my husband needed me to pick him up after giving blood. We decided it would make life a little easier to eat at Golden Wok. We have used them in the pass for delivery, and ate there once before. It has always been a very nice little place. The First time we saw it, we didn’t think it would be that great because it’s a tiny restaurant in a strip mall. One night, we didn’t have stuff in the house and didn’t want to run to the grocery store so the first time we ate Golden Wok food was delivery, it was good and then we decided to find out where they where located. I was surprised they were the place we decided to pass up.
Well my husband and I walked in and just seated ourselves. A few minutes went by and I went up to the counter and asked for menus, and let the young man know we would be dinning in. You would think, they would want to find out, if you where planning on ordering or what since they are a restaurant and they probably need all the places possible. Now it is a little bit on the humid side outside so maybe they just figured we were looking for an escape the heat. When I asked for a menu our waitress came and took care of us and apologized for not seeing us.
I order a combination plate, with garlic, which came with white rice and chicken egg roll. I had a choice of either a pork, vegetable, or chicken egg roll. It had chicken fried rice but normally I do not like fried rice, so I asked her to substitute with white rice. She then took my husband order who is a little more difficult and I don’t remember what he order but his food looked good too. Our food was delivered very hot, which is nice. One thing I don’t care for is cold food, expecially when it out to eat.
I had ordered 2 cans of pops, maybe to save money it be cheaper to take it home but it’s nice to just seat down after standing all day at work.
Maybe they should try to open another restaurant near Hilton Head rentals, I am sure their guest might like Golden Wok.
The things I didn’t much care for at Golden Wok was the soy sauce brand being used. It is very liquidity and to me it just don’t taste as nice as some of the thicker soy sauce. The other thing I don’t like is that if your dining in, you have to buy a can of pop. I think I would much rather see a Soda Fountain with different brands of pop. This way their customer could drink out of cups.
When we were about to leave my husband shared with the waitress that he just donated blood, because of that she gave him 10 percent off. I was surprised she do that for my husband and it was very nice of her to do. This is a good little restaurant, and they make wonderful food.
