An Experience at Perkins

On Monday both my best friend and I went out to shop for a new outfit and decided we would stop for lunch. After much debating where we aught to go we finally settled on Perkins. We where in a town called Eagan. It a fairly nice little town south of the Cities and I figured it would have less traffic because of the RNC. I was right it wasn’t to bad going down that way. We went to 2 stores and found nothing and when we lift the second store I had suggested stopping for lunch. We chose the Perkins near the shopping center we where at.
We got in and we were the only 2 customers for a while. We order our meals, I orded the BBQ Chicken supreme with out bacon on it, and fries to be extra crispy. My friend ordered eggs benadics, with a muffin and fruit. We are both trying to make healthier choices because we want to lose weight. To drink I had order Mr. Pib and I forgot what she order. We were talking about my husband mom. She recently passed away and I was sharing with her what hopsice had done to the family. We didn’t noticed how much time went by until our waitress came with our food. She had asked us does this look okay to you.
She asked me if my fries where done, my answer was not enough. They weren’t even done on a under cook level. My chicken was still a little pink and looked not so good presentation. My friend eggs were over hard. The waitress said she would take it back and have it redone and said she pay for our deserts.
I wasn’t upset niether was my friend. We didn’t really respond angry or anything. It took the food a long time to get out but normally when we are hanging out we don’t keep track of time, so having our food take a while doesn’t phase us. Now having it come uncook or overcooked we will noticed. Our waitress did a good job. The only place for improvement I would say not bring out the dishes to the customer to show them. This makes the cook look bad, and can turn of some customers. The cook got promoted from busboy to cook. I don’t think he was quiet ready for that, but his manager seemed to think so. It would have been better if she just came and let us know there was some problems and the dinner needed to be remade.
When she came back with our meals the second time, we were told the manager would pay for the dinner. She would take care of our deserts. Well that was the cheapest lunch and pie I have ever had. I took the pie home, I picked the Caramel Apple, and so did my friend.
Overall I would say the service at Perkins was good, but the cooking and food presentation had room for major improvement. When I came home I shared our experience with my husband and he said it reminded Kitchen Nightmares and joked about Ramsey being there. Honestly, I think if I ever saw Ramsey somewhere I wouldn’t be eating there I be worried about dieing from bad food.
Our waitress was very good and she was also personable.
