Yoplait is one of the few brands of Yogurt I can eat. I can have milk products but within a limit, I can say I can not have a glass of milk with out suffering the consequences. One of my favorite one is the White Chocolate Raspberry. What I like about it, it has real raspberry. Most of Yoplait yogurt has real fruit, which makes it taste better.
Yoplait uses Kosher Gelatin which is nice because I don’t have to worry on that one, and there are no fake sugar in it neither. I can handle eating it with out making myself sick. The white Chocolate raspberry is 170 calories which makes a great snack after work or a good breakfast. It probably make a great desert depending on what flavor. It is gluten free also which helps.
I have tried soy yogurt because I am not supposed to have to much milk, sometimes I am okay with a milk based thing, sometimes not. I never have liked soy based Yogurt, and found it hard to find a good yogurt that didn’t use fake sugar or Kosher gelatin. For me not having Kosher Gelatin could get me in serious trouble, so I have to make sure it is kosher. It is smooth, at the same time you can taste and feel the fruit in their fruity type yogurt.
Reading their jar I found out they are actually a international company, which is kind of neat maybe if I find my self in a pinch on picking a global company they will make it easier. I wonder if IQAir global because that would give me another company to write about for class.
Yoplait uses “kosher gelatin” but apparently this definition isn’t enough to rule out the possibility of its being made from pig skins. If you’re concerned about it being called “kosher”, you’re fine. but if you’re worried about it coming from pigs, you might need to check more carefully.
Actually, I believe they can not use anything that is from pig inorder for it to be consider Kosher. A Rabbi would never bless something if it was made from pig which is unclean, but I will be giving them a call to make positively sure they are not using pig.
I have had serious allergic reactions againist pigs, since I haven’t had one from Yoplait yet, I think they are safe. Now unless it says Kosher gelatin I asume it is made from pig.
I got an email in response to my email to Yopliat today. The Gelitan in their Yogurt is made from Beef. I hope this helps my readers who where wondering the same thing as I.

Whenever relying on a product’s kosher status it is important to check the source of it’s kosher certification. The rabbi (may he rest in peace) who certified yoplait was Conservative and as such was open to much leeway as far as designating products kosher. This is especialy important with non-dairy products as even within orthodox organizations there are differing opinions as to the level of cleanliness there must be on equipment previously used with dairy items. ‘OU’ and ‘OK’ are examples of certifications that have a very high standard in that regard.
