Crusoe TV Show

My husband and I started watching Crusoe when it first came out, but we recorded it on our box and waited for serval episodes to be ready to play at a time, nice thing about sattelite TV you can watch shows when you want to.
Crusoe is about a man and his compannion who he rescues who are trapped on a isle. By what my husband says the book had the man as he’s slave the Tv Show protrays Friday as Crusoe long time friend and compannion after he was saved from canables. I have watch 6 or 7 episodes some where better then other but I have found this to be interesting to say the least. I am glad they made Friday more of a friend then a slave, but they didn’t exactly stay with the area of time that the movie is wrote in. Crusoe was a merchant or pritate who was legal to do his biding i guess would be the best way to explain it he was betrayed and ended up on this island. I am not sure how he ended up there or how he built his tree house.
They have been found every episode I want to say but never seem to get rescued. Friday doesn’t want to leave the island but maybe after the last episode we watch he will want to get off the island. They probably could use some outdoor lighting in that tree house. I think this is a interesting show and so far has some potential.

November almost over

November is a rough month. We made it through Thanksgiving. This was the first Thanksgiving dad and my hubby had with out mom. Craig and I got our Thanksgiving Dinner stuff at Super Target over in I want to Say Edina Mn. I will say I am surprised at how well their produce was, I many grocery stories lately don’t have good quality.
I am happy they have good quality stuff over there. I think thanksgiving I try to do as much stuff as possible to forget that I don’t have dad, I am always sensitive in November, and hubby still hasn’t learned it. I understand he will be sensitive around the time of mom death, so I just have to try to have enough grace.
We still haven’t exactly worked through forgiving hospice for the way they treated mom. Cancer has affected my family in many ways. I lost my dad when I was 17 from mesothelioma. We lost his mom to pancerous cancer. I am surprised going shopping at Target didn’t drive me insane, we where able to find some 7Up my hubby is fond of. I am going to have to get more DP, because dad is drinking mine too.. LOL guess I will have to account for that when hubby starts wondering where it all going.

Jenie-O Turkey Breast

We only had my Husband, our dad, and me for dinner for Thanksgiving. We decided a big turkey would be too much, and well even though we like turkey we didn’t want to have a much of turkey meat lift overs. We eat turkey a lot; this is the second time we brought the Jenie-O Turkey Breast. The first time was a few weeks ago when we had over another friend.

I personally, like turkey legs but hubby don’t much care for them, and neither one of us seem to eat the wings. The first time I made the turkey I was impress with how juicy it was. I had a concern because the breast meat wasn’t it typical white color, it was more of a nice lightish pink color but the liquid and my meat thermoitor was telling me the meat was done, along with the little pop up one they have in the turkey breast. I decided it would be okay to serve because I had my meat thermometer in the thickest part of the turkey. No one-got sick so I know I did it right.

The second time I made one was for Thanksgiving dinner, once again, I was surprised with the moistness of the turkey breast and the coloring of the meat surprised me a little It just a different kind of white color with a slightly pinker tint to it. Now I am color deficient so I might not be seeing the color right. Once again, both my thermometer told me it was ready to go, so I carved it up. It was so nice and moist again, and boy did it taste good. It was easy to cut into slice to. The meat was very tender.

When I cook my turkey I put some butter on the skin, and several different spices, I also pour a can of ginger ale over it, and I put about a cup of water in the bottom of the pan, so I can use enough juices for the stuffing and let me tell you it makes the stuffing taste good. I don’t know were I learned the ginger ale idea, I think it came from not having any chicken stock or turkey stock, and needing liquid and for some reason I couldn’t use the tap water where I lived, and that what I had. I don’t think the pop helped the turkey.  I doubt it would have helped the turkey, but maybe the pop gave it a little more kick. It worked the first time I used it and that turkey was moist, but this Jenie-O Turkey breast is the moistest I have ever had since I been cooking or eating turkeys.

We will be fatting dad up this weekend. He been sleep since he been here, I know he wants to go to the MOA so maybe I will take him if it gets warmer outside and no heat won’t kill us. :)

Overall thanksgiving went well. I did a lot of baking and I am glad everything turned out as good as it did. I would diffidently recommend Jenie-O turkey breast to other for thanksgiving or other holidays when it just a small gathering of people. It is simple to prepare and does not take long to cook. Plus it comes in enough sizes, so it is easy to pick what is best for the gathering.

Wow, it’s warm

Last week they changed our windows in our apartment building, they are still working on other apartments in the building. They are changing all the bedroom windows. I am surprised one of their updates did a lot of good, I know their water update didn’t go so well and I still am not happy about it. I am glad they are finding energy saving ways because heating a apartment building has to be hard and very expensive.
It used to be we would have anywhere between a 10 and 20 degree different between the living room and bedrooms. Yeah that’s a good change, futher a way from the window it was less of a difference. Our manager put in new windows they are a little smaller then the old windows but still rather large. They are single windows but hold in the heat very nicely so during the summer they should hold in the cold air nicely.
Hopefully they will do the patio window with their next update on the apartments because we could really use new ones of those, by that window it’s always cold, and we lose a good bite of hot air from inside the house. Grant it if they do replace the balcony windows then I will have to move the tv stand and that thing ways close to 100 pounds, but now I was able to move it on my own. Don’t ask me how, because that’s a lot of weight.

Twilight

I have heard many reviews about this movie, before I went and saw it. I have read of all Stephanie books on from this series. Twilight was done okay as far as movies, and I liked it. There was no real langauge and for the most the people who wrote or directed the movie did a fairly good job of keeping within the spirit of the story.
I will say they did some things I didn’t much care for like introducing Jacob to Bella a lot sooner then the book introduced them to each other. They rushed Bella and Edwards relationship but honestly how focused can you get with a 2 hour movie when there is a lot of stuff to cover in such a short time, so I think their speed eventhough it was faster then I would have liked it to be was probably about the right pace for their romance.
The fight sceen wasn’t as long as I thought it was in the book and I thought in the book Bella was a lot more injured then she appeared in the movie, but come on it what a PG13 movie, so how voilent do we want it to get. Lets face it this movie is geared toward young adult/ teens so it’s best to keep it safe.
I appreciated the fact that they kept Bella pure. I would recommend this as a good date night movie. My husband and I enjoyed it on the maga screen. As I said a few scenes I would have liked to see more of but other wise I found it enjoyable. I did not go in with the expectation it would be like the book.
I pictured Edwards house a little different, Boy I like to see their credit card article on making this movie. I know that it seems that they broke the record this year. If you have read the book like me and aren’t so tied into everything must be exactly the same this will be a enjoyable movie.

Fallout 3 PS3

Trade in credits are great, when hubby and I get a review we don’t like we normally trade them in and then save the trade in credits until we can get something we want. We have been wanting this game since we knew about it. We loved Oblivion, and I think everything else form this company hubby and I have enjoyed.
My hubby started out as a woman, and it’s a little different, I started out as a male and changed my sex because I found as a male responses where a little more ruder. You get sereval types of weapons you can use to kill animals or people who are attacking you for no good reason. Finding your first location is hard, after you get out of the vault but not to hard.
Pretty much what it is, is your character grows up in this vault and they claim no one opened it for 200 yrs or better, but then you go to the new town and you hear rumours, I don’t know about the rumars but I guess the store will play out.
Unlike in oblivion you can’t stripe them down to their skimpies, their funny t shirts and shorts are strange. It is easier to play the game more of a shoot but it seems there are never enough bullets, I wish they had magics powers in this one because I would use them a lot more. I tend to like swords, so I been using the bat as my weapon of choose.
This video game is more for mature audiences, language is a little rough but most people respond to your character ways of doing things, so if they are rude and agressive with people they are bound to get responses they deserve.
The graphics of this game was pretty good. This is not exactly like oblivion but it is good.

Fable 2

We recently got Fable 2. I will say I was surprised at the graphics. In the first scene there is a little brown bird it’s amazing how well you can see the wings. The first part of the game is a little shocking, is the best way I can put it, but it part of what shapes your character. In the beginning of the game you can choose to be good or bad, there are plenty of opportunities to taint your character which aren’t clear that you doing it until after it’s done.

Lets see in this game you can be either a man or a woman, you can have a family. Okay being a woman warrior wouldn’t that be a little unrealistic. I ended up getting married simply because I felt bad for the sap. This game does a pretty good job of making you feel for the character your playing and those around him or her. I owe 3 homes, 2 of which I am renting out. I am not being very good in the marriage because I think I focus more on the quest, maybe I will get married in another town.. LOL that sounds fun, see how long in the game I can hide it and how long it goes unpunished. Maybe I will decide to see how many kids my character can have in this game. LOL This sounds fun since it’s a girl. In the game it does the have sex very modestly, you know what they doing but not seeing. I wouldn’t recommend this for a young player but maybe a teen would be okay. This is a game like the first Fable, is based on consequences of what your character does, this can teach a lesson to young people.

The graphics of this game was done well, and the store line is pretty interesting so far. Your character carries their weapons in use but their luggage is fairly well hidden. This game causes time to disappear it’s one I probably need to set my alarm for so I stop playing it. It funnier then TV.

Bioshock PS3

Let me start by saying wow to the graphics, my husband and I do not have a HDTV, his Tv is pretty good but I will say the graphics on this was impressive. Most of the game is played in an underwater city.
The people of this city did something to themselves and now they are not really human, they will attack first and ask question when your dead. So far I have no found any friends in this world other then 2 people on the radio instructing me where to go.
This game is a little different, it can be a shooter if you want it to be, you have a chose of what weapons you use. I prefer plasma so I go through a lot of it. To get things they are on those people you kill and in vending machines so it wise to search around and collect things from people. Hack into the vending machines it is worth it. The puzzles are not hard, they are very simple as long as you pay attention to the liquid stuff moving. It took me a few tries on my first hack job but after that I was able to get it right away. The hardest things to hack into are safes, they are next to impossible to figure out.
One battle they say is going to be hard are the big daddies, they are with what called little sisters. They are hard but not that hard, once you get some specific types of plasma fire works pretty nicely. Once you get ice it pretty much stops them but I found the machine gun to be most helpful this way they can’t get you to easily. I never have killed one of the girls, but if you do you get more adams if you don’t you might get a reward from the child which is just as good. I am not sure how many adams you get when you kill them maybe I will have to try it.
I believe this game hit the 3 strike rule, but I will have to have hubby play it to make sure I was hearing it correctly. I think I do better at burning fat by using a fat burner pills then sitting on my but playing video games..

G-d Father’s Pizza

Last night my husband and I decided we’d take dad out for dinner. Actually that been the plan for the last 2 weeks. Dad likes G-d Father’s Pizza, and I like them because I can get the salad bar. I do have to say I wasn’t impressed with the salad bar there last night. The one we went to was off of 35 and what ever that exit is before you get to the claremont.

I had the veggie pizza, it was good. I did forget to tell them to take off the Tomatoes, I am strange and picky when it comes to those. My pizza was good and nicely filled with Veggies. My hubby had a Stake pizza, his look like it had a generous amount of meat. Dad had the Pepperoni Pizza, it looked pretty good to. We had garlic bread as a appetizer. I will say that one side of the toast wasn’t browned and on that side of the bread it didn’t look very good. It did taste good.

We received our pizza nice and hot, I know my pizza tasted great, and I am thinking so did everyone else because we ate it all.

The salad bar, salad looked good. I saw some beets and had a few of those, the beets where great and nice. They had a few selection for the salad bar, but not very many. They did have pears which was nice because dad seems to enjoy his pears. I had a small salad with, sunflower seeds, and beets. I didn’t see anything else I wanted to add to my salad. I had thousand island dressing, and I have to admit I wasn’t impressed with it.

Overall the Pizza was great, G-d Father’s has always had good pizza for the most. The salad was okay.
