Yes again we had to run to the ER with dad. I am amazed at how quickly they get dad in and out of there. Last night dad fall in the bathroom, and we couldn’t get him out and was worried he hit is head. He was out of it and it was a little unsettling. 911 took out my bathroom door, and I was able to put it back onto the hings. The hospital staff treat dad well. We try to respond to quickly to dad needs and we been assured this is always a good thing to do first. They had dad covered in a couple of blankets when we got in, grant it not as soft as rustic bedding would be but it made him feel comfortable.
I will say I am glad they respond quickly, Xray, CATscan went under 45 minutes we where out in less then 3 hours I believe. In Minnesota when we lived there it would be 6 to 12 hours.

  • The Body Shop in Clackamas Mall OR

The other day my husband and I walked around the mall, and I saw this little shop that struck my interest. Trust me it wasn’t all that interesting but there was a few things my husband and I decided to try. The lady who worked there was friendly and answered our questions. She made a couple of suggestions for us. I was surprised at everything they had in there, it was a wide range of stuff, they even had stuff that detangles hair, lotions, perfumes, lip stuff, but no real make up that I found.
The customer service was great there and she was friendly.

  • Winco Foods

We have started using Winco more now since we’ve been in the area. They are walking distance and on something have better prices like water. I am not fond of their meat department but that okay, I am picky with meat but they have some good thing. I can’t buy silver coins there but i can use them if i needed to. They take cash, check, ebt and debit cards but not credit card. So if i know my pin number on my accounts I am good.
For the most winco is okay not one of my favorite places but it works when i need a couple of items.

I order some books on October 23rd from Amazon. One of the books I got from a third party. Both of the books were mailed on the 28th of October. So I was thinking they would both be here on the same day! Wrong again. The first book came on the first week of the month early in the week. The second book came on the 16th of Nov, 2 weeks later. I ended up calling Amazon and was told I had to contact PBshopUS who was the third party but had to do this through E-mail. Okay I don’t want to do email the book needs to be here NOW not later. I was pretty upset with the whole situation. I was surprised how quickly PBshopUS had answered my email. They gave me a couple things I needed to do first just incase the post office had it. I decided to once again call the apartment manager and make sure my book wasn’t in the office. Sure enough DHL had dropped it off which is why i had no noticed of it being there. DHL is horrible, I do not recommend them. Everytime they deliver anything I never get my stuff in a timely manner even though the package says time sensitive material. So I would like DHL definition of time sensitive!
Good thing I didn’t order a carhartt coats its a little on the cool side here and I’d be very made if I was cold because of DHL. For now on I will say please do not use DHL on all my orders.
Will i order from PBshopUS I might try them again and see what happens, not sure yet. This is the first time I have had issues, and their customer reviews have always been high. They treated me kindly through email, and responded to me faster then they claimed. So this is Redeeming.

Oh no I did it wrong, I want to transfer money into my checking account not paypal. Yeah ops, I missed up. I called paypal customer service and they helped me fix the problem. I explained to her that I hit transfer funds which adds money I wanted to withdraw. She did explain to me before I let her know I hit the wrong thing I needed to withdraw but she would cancel the transfer out. She helped me deal with my problem. Tried to help when when she thought I was confused. I mean it not like buying a ski rack or anything it’s like trying to pay for over bouncing my account. I not sure what happened there but some how I screwed myself up on Amazon the other day and charged to the wrong account creating a miss. I am so glad I have a paypal account with a little bit of money enough to cover the money I need in my bank account.

For the most Paypal has always worked well with me. I have no problem with them. Oh speaking of that I need to change my phone number and account to link to before i close out my bank account. Well at least they fix it fast for me and were pleasant to deal with.

  • All Season in Happy Valley Or

    Posted on by Gav

I am so glad someone told me about this little grocery store. Oregon seems to have so many more options for me and my gluten free diet. All Season Grocery store is my favorite place now. I needed a few days of food. All season by far has the best selections of the quick gluten free meals, and being a student that what I need. The nice thing is their gluten free products are easy to find and they have several options. Compared to most grocery stores only have maybe 2 to 4 options I have at so many more. I wouldn’t dare to count it. I can get some cookies, chips, crackers, box dinners, mac& cheese. Their prices are a little on the higher side but all gluten free products are.
Everytime I go into this grocery story the staff is friendly and easy to get alone. They have a few cutting tools if a person really needs it in the kitchen but I would prefer to buy that type of stuff somewhere else. Water they are over priced on, but for the most the gluten free products seem about the same as everywhere else.

  • Target never has the same story

    Posted on by Gav

Last night we stopped at our local target store. We first went to the pharmacy to pick up dad prescriptions. The pharmacist asked us if we wanted to sign up for a frequent prescription members discount card. He said it would work anywhere in target. We get to the register to check out what we bought and handed the cashier the receipt from the pharmacy receipt printer, but the lady said we couldn’t use it.

It seems often when my husband or I are told one thing it ends up being wrong in the end. Target needs to start trying their employees better. I can not remember how many times we asked for a transaction to be done with 2 different payment options and them charging the credit card the full price how frustrating. I am so not impressed with target right now.

  • Fine I’ll find out my rights

    Posted on by Gav

I have to admit, I took out a lot of frustration on the person on the phone for my apartment complex. I finally got fed up with a lack of information, being told one day I had a credit then I owed money and it just got confusing. I finally told the rental person, when I started feeling my lease was not being followed that I was gonna call someone and find out what my legal right were here in Oregon as a renter. I was not a happy person even if it was under 30$ they told me I owed. Our property manager was told that I was angry and she needed to talk to me. I bet she was thinking she’d rather find the best annuity rates, then talk to a resident threatening to find out their rights as a resident.
She went through the ledger of my account and found something which should not have happened, like us being charged a deposit for a mental health dog for dad. She couldn’t figure out the other deposit amounts and how the last company came up with the figures. What we found out was that my file was pretty much spread through out their entire office and in the break room. Wow that is bad! The last management team has burned a bridge down I think. Once the new landlord figured everything out. She told us my cat a pet wasn’t being charged, I told her well he needs to be charged for. The dog and cat both where charged a deposit price. Now we have a credit on the account. I do not know if I should jump up and down and be happy or if I should simply not trust it.

At least the landlord did not think I was yelling at the office staff and that I was being direct. She told us that all it takes is for one bad experience for a resident and than they respond based on their experience. I think she might be right. We had shared with her some of the struggles in the last place, so I am pretty sure we proved her theory some more.

  • Comcast

    Posted on by Gav

Well, we had to go with comcast when we moved here. I have to admit at first I did not want to go with Comcast. I was very against it. I was angry at them and holding a 6 yr long grudge, yes I hold grudges sometimes. I was mad as heck because my last experience with them was unpleasant and I lost one of my pets and almost lost my cat, had food stolen out of my apartment, chemical, split and a chair taken from my apartment. I was gone on a family emergency and their contractors where updating their lines in my building. After some fighting and several resident complaints about problems they paid my vet bills. They did not replace any of the things they damage. This is why I did not want to go with Comcast, because of their contractors. Well, out here we found that our last company where we lived wasn’t going to work out well and we needed cable. Comcast was the better option. I wish it was a houses for rent here and not a apartment more freedom.

I am happy to say our experience with Comcast has been pleasant, our local rep has been helpful. The gentleman who came and set us up when we started having troubles with the internet he gave us his card told us to call. Eventually we found out there was a lot of line noise. Now they are trying to find that. He has been helpful, respectful, and even covered his shoes when he came in. The bill isn’t to high. The main problem which is being worked on is line noise which cause us to lose internet connection and tv static or something. I am happy with Comcast because of the time and commitment our local rep has taken with my husband and I.

I was pleasantly surprised a couple weeks ago in the mall, we walked pasted him he recognized my husband and I, and spoke to us. This was impressive to me because its the first time that that has happened.

  • JC Penny’s in Clackmas Towncenter

My husband and I had to get some clothes. We decided we would set a limit of 100$ each and we were well under budget. He got 3 shirts and 2 pairs of pants and I got 3 shirts and 2 pairs of slacks. I need some interview clothes and the lady at the counter was helpful. I was able to ask her if what I picked would work. I am not someone who likes to dress up. Shoot I would be happy in scrubs. I found what I liked and was happy I had lost enough weight to go down in sizes again, I still need to lose more weight but I like the styles they had at JcPenny’s. One thing which concerned my husband and I is that some of their clothes are made in Cambodia. This is a little worrisome.

The clothes seem to be good quality, and in a few months I will get more clothes for winter time, because I have nothing now for the winter. Overall we had a good experience at JcPennies.
