  • Anne’s Homegrown Rice Past and Cheddar

    I have had to make the dreaded switch from eating wheat to needing to be Gluten Free. I have dreaded this because last time I tried to be gluten free because my asthma gotten very bad. Well after my last dental surgery I couldn’t eat stuff with wheat or gluten. I was feeling good until I went and added back a bunch of wheat in my diet and ended up having a long asthma episode which I get when my allergies are being out of control. I was able to link it to what i added back into my diet very easily. I have tried other gluten free foods and have not liked it. Thankfully it seems things are changing.

    Tonight we tried Anne’s Mac and cheese. It actually tasted good. The texture was not offensive. It tasted almost as good as real Mac and cheese that my hubby and I like and I am pretty sure I can get the cheese we like and make it taste just as good. It was good it did taste like what it was advertised as.

  • Marathon Gas Station on Old Shakopee Rd in Bloomington MN

    My car gave me troubles on Friday, and I decided to bring it into Marathon where I get oil change. They have always treated me honestly and have warned me when I do have problems coming up if they see it. They are fair and reasonable on their pricing. Well I got my car back today, and within 5 minutes it broke down again. Are you Freaking Kidding me, Seriously I am gonna cry here. So $650 bucks later, its fixed. I had some issues with my bank which I will write about in my next post. Well, they got the car towed to them, and I had to come with the tow truck. Okay no biggy, I can handle it but not sure how I was gonna pay for more repairs with my bank issues. Yeah I was fixing on crying.
    Well, good thing they are honest, and level headed and don’t try to take advantage of their customer. When I turned on my Defroster is when my car broke down, my engine locked up when that stopped working. I hate it when they make cars like that, just make the heater stop working this way. I don’t have to be stall out on a road where some idiot can hit me. It did this to me in the driveway area, while I was getting ready to veer off to the left. I was able to put the car in neutral and get it close to the side of the road.
    So what was the problem with the car, they fixed the heater, windshield wiper fluid pump, and front of the exhaust. What they did not realize is the AC was not working correctly and was freezing up or seizing. The mechanic figured it out and we where able to bypass the AC which if I decide to during the summer I can fix it. Depends on what the humidity and heat will be. Minnesota does get humid, we have big changes in the season. Well he didn’t charge me to much. I just wish he would have realize the AC was a problem too, so I wouldn’t have broken down and had a additional expense. The AC will cost $800 to fix. I also will need to deal with the ball joint on the driver side but I do not need to do it now.
    They reassured me that bypassing the AC for defrost would be okay. Happy to say I made it all the way home with out any trouble not even a noise from it. Everything on my car needed to be special ordered expect for one part, or else he gave me a discount because it was cheaper then he quoted.
    I would recommend them for repairs, they are honest and treat there customers well. My husband had left to go to work and my friend wasn’t gonna be up for a few hours. The mechanic needed to test drive another car, and decided to pick me up. This was helpful, the car he had was some monte carlo, and I can tell you I didn’t like that car. It was nice, but gosh it was short, my head was pretty close to the roof. I am not overly tall, but I am a above average hight. They were patient with me while dealing with my bank on them declining my purchase even though I had plenty of money in my account.

  • 3M window Kits

    This is the first time since living in my apartment that its not cold. I am so glad I got 3M window kits. They where not hard to put up, but I had some tips from someone who did there balcony window. I had to take down the blinds. It did not take me to long to put up the window plastic, the balcony window was hard. The hardest part was cutting it to the right size, but that wasn’t to hard when I figured out a easy way to do it. This was a great investment and I would recommend this to any apartment renter who every year feels like they are freezing.
    The next thing I need to get is some savoy house lighting for the bedrooms. Dads got a couple of lights but they need to be modernized.

    Okay well, I gotta complain now. Don’t get me wrong I appreciate our post person delivering out mail to us. Even when I get something for rv loanswhich I don’t need in a apartment building. I have to say if the package is to big to slide out the other way then it maybe shouldn’t be put in the mail box. Today I went to get the mail, and my hubby book had came yesterday, so I spent time fighting to get it out of the tiny little mailbox. I ended up damaging a corner of his book, which he didn’t seem to care to much. So I guess if something to large for it, don’t put it there knock on my door I might be home or better yet bring it to management office and let them hold it till we come home, or go over there.

  • 3M Patio Door Insulator Kit

    One of my friends gave this to me a couple weeks ago, and yesterday I finally decided it was time to put it up. I will say it is a challenge and I was glad my friend gave me a few tips so that it went smoother. My husband actually help me get it up after I got the tape on. I will say I honestly did not realize how much cold air was coming into the apartment, I know understand why it always cold in here. I will say this works good and the apartment living room is a lot warmer, so I will go out and get the window kits tomorrow after guitar lessons. Last night I went into both dads and the master bedrooms and they were a lot colder then the living room so maybe if we can put the kits on the windows it would give us a warmer apartment. Now heres what i do not get the windows in the rooms are not supposed to leak that much air. Maybe i need to do some funeral planning for our windows in the bedrooms they are horrible. I know one thing when I become a home owner if that ever happens I will make sure the windows seal in the heat. Now at least I know the windows kits work well on the patio so we will soon see when its -15 outside if it stays warm in here.

  • Acai Vitamin Chews

    This is made by Genesis Today . Why am I trying vitamins, I been catching everything at work. I have been sick more than healthy it seems and my immune system feels a little ran down. I have been eating healthy, exercising, and sleeping until I wake up naturally. So there is no reason for me to catch every single cold I am exposed to. I was in Wal-Mart the other day and saw the Acai chewable vitamins in the check out lane, I read the package and found there is no gelatin, or fake sugars, and has most of the vitamins I need anyways. They are tasty too, which makes them easier to eat. I am only taking one vitamin a day, it does say on the package you can eat them throughout the day. My concern is I believe vitamin B is a fat Soluble Vitamin and can be overdosed on. Since the ingredients are all natural or it appears so its safe for me to take with my allergies. I have to do a lot of reading of packaging when I get anything medicine, vitamin, or if I were to buy apidexin, I’d have to make sure all the things in it is safe for me. It is amazing how many things will throw in fake sugars, its medicines it does not need to be sweetened. Acai has a natural sugar in it, and I believe there is cane sugar. I am fine with whole sugars.

  • Hershey’s Mint Sweet chocolates

    I love mint chocolates, so when I saw the Hershey’s Mint Sweet Chocolate Multi package, I couldn’t say no. There is Dark Chocolate Mint, Milk Chocolate Mint, and White Chocolate Mint, my favorite one is the Milk Chocolate mint, reminds me of andies mints sorry. I have noticed they have to be ate fast because they melt quickly in your hands. So they are not something you’d want in your pockets while installing steel drums on the car. They look good to, like normal chocolate you can not tell the different between a Hershey candy bar and these. The White Chocolate Mint is a little different, they have green, red and light green sprinkles in them. They are more crunchy but still wonderfully good. Now white chocolate is really not chocolate but that besides the point. The Dark and Milk Chocolate Mints are smooth and are wonderful. I would recommend these to anyone who likes chocolate and mint together.

  • Glee Gum

    The other day when my husband and I went to the Mall of America, and stopped at a candy impurerum. We found a lot of candy there I could eat except for the sugar free candy which can go down a Saniflo toilet. For the first time in a long time I found my favorite flavor gum, that is Cinnamon gum. It is made with real sugar which is good for me. I really like it, the gum is not over powering, it is well balanced. The color is different then I excepted, almost a turn off but it tastes good and Cinnamony. The gum is also gluten free which is another plus.

    This was another product we tried with dad. Dad does not like it, he is not happy with it. The box that amplifies sounds is small, and light weight. The earphones dad did not like at all. It requires one AAA battery. This did not work well to pick up the TV, eventhough it was at the max volume of what my hearing can handle, which is pretty loud. Dad could hear me when I was next to him but not when I was far away. We tried to turn up the volume but than it made a high pitch nose in his ear. He does not like this product. The review which I read before I purchased it where not accurate.
    At least the other hearing amplifier I got dad works so he will be able to hear all the paid programing on severe acne. This Product will not work for someone with sever hearing lost, it might work for someone with mild hearing lost but I doubt it. I doubt anyone could hear a whisper across the room with it. I will not try it personally because my hearing is sensitive.

  • SSI hearing enhancement

    It’s hear already, I just ordered it on Friday. It got her on Monday but I forgot to check my mail so I didn’t get it until yesterday. Dad has not been able to hear the TV or my husband and me talking unless I yell at him. We do not have thousand of dollars for hearing aids, if we did we would have gotten them by now. When we tried to get help for dad many places told us our income because he lived here counted as his income. I think this is wrong because we use his income to pay for his stuff, not ours, my husband and I don’t even have him help with rent. He helps with utilities, and grocery, and that is about all. I was on amazon.com and found a couple of things, one thing I found was the SSi hearing enchantment.
    I was surprised that they had to put that it would not protect you from loud noises, well duh it amplifies sounds. It not a very nice looking thing would never pass as a unique christmas tree ornaments but if it works it good. I was surprised how big it was but it better then having to yell at dad. So yesterday, I gave it to dad and we put it in his area, and I didn’t even have to talk above my normal voice. I was able to speak to him in a quieter tone which is nice. I had the TV on at the normal volume for me and he was able to hear it. So it seems to work, I wonder for how long because it was so cheap.
    I will have to post more. Do I recommend it I am not sure yet I will have to post a comment when I know more.
