I am not sure how the dog goes through her slippers for outside so quickly but she has a talent for it. We tried the other 2 pet stores which are local and it was just picked over. I figured it wouldn’t hurt trying Pet Supply Plus, and I found more then just doggy booties I found a cat scratch post and booties for a lot less then I found them other places.
We went in there, and it was a good thing we did. I got my 2 pairs of booties for the dog, now her paws will be dry in them. They look like gloves, but will probably be torn through just like all other booties to bad they can’t be dealt with like a belt in a rv with a rv repair. They are ugly booties but they will serve the purpose they were intended for.
I also got a kitty scratching post which was 2 ft tall, and is made with rope maybe otis can’t tare through this one as quickly as the other one. It looks pretty steady, so the 20 pound monster won’t be able to destroy it quickly. We had a pretty good experience there but there was no one to answer questions unless you sought them out.

  • Milk-Bone Gravy Bones

    Posted on by Gav

I am not sure what the dog thinks about them because she throws them around and chases after them. It funny how this little dog eat her treats sometimes she does this because she not very interested. The dog has caused me some dark circles trying to find her treats she likes. Sometimes she a snot, I think she likes it because she will eat it after a few throws. I will say, I would have expected them to be more wet feeling then they are but they are not wet at all. So it doesn’t really remind of gravy which is normally wet. Now I know personally I wouldn’t want to stick my hand in no wet box or container to get the dog her treat.
Right now we are still working on potty training she still thinks it good to pee in mine and hubby bedroom between our closet and by the cat litter. I can’t seem to get it throw her thick skull it naughty. She got made at hubby and I and decided to hold her pooh for a couple of days so she hasn’t gotten many bones from the box. Well if she keeps it up, this box of treats might last us a long time.

  • Meaty bone

I have to say I need to be careful what kind of treats I get the dog or the dog might be a good candidate to write a colon cleanse review, normally treats aren’t to bad finding for her but I do need to watch the fat content in what I give Shadow. We found out here sensitive system after she moved in with us, but training her is a challenge unless you can give her a special treat. I give her chicken treats for walking outside and behaving, and meaty bone when she comes in, I change up sometimes from Milky bone. I like the meaty bones for her they are smaller then milky bones and shadow likes throwing them into the air and then catching them.
They don’t have a strong small, but they do look pretty good, they have some sauce on them which is dry and the dog always like them.

  • Arm& Hammer Pet Fresh

    Posted on by Gav

Wow it still smells good, and it’s been open for a year. I put it in the closet and forgot all about it. I wanted to have a nice small in the living room. So I was looking around and found the pet fresh from Arm&Hammer. I gave it to my nephew and told him to use it. I was surprised it still smelled good, and wasn’t all clumpy. It’s like my rug got a nice little colon cleanser done to it. Today we decided to steam clean it so the carpet now smell differently but that’s okay, in a couple days I will probably use the arm&hammer pet fresh again.
It is very fine and powdery, which can be bad if your asthmatic and can’t breath good, when it in the air. I have a little trouble using it if I do not shake it close to the floor otherwise I have no trouble. The box has lasted me at least 4 vacuuming and I have plenty more lift, it does not take a lot to make the floor smell clean and fresh. I have never liked products where you have to use a lot of it to work, but this seems to do the trick with just a lite coat or a lite sprinkling on the floor.

  • Snausages in a Blanket

    Posted on by Gav

The other day I decided to get Snausages in a blanket to try with the dog for treats. We are still giving the dogs lots of treats for going potty outside, talk about spoiled she hasn’t had a accident, since we came back from Illinois so I have to say I am very proud of her.

I got these at Target for a few bucks, and they are small so they work nicely for our dog who is about 7 pounds. They are covered with cheese flavored stuff and beef dog looking things, they actually smell pretty good, and look good. They are soft and chewy too, so they are easy to break apart of give her on walks when I know people will be walking their pets, encourages her to behave well. We still have to watch the dog because she likes to eat quickly and then chokes on things.
I have noticed at some stores they are trying to get you to a apply for check cards for them but why do that, not like I want a bunch of companies running credit checks on me, I should go to one of those credit report services and find out how bad my credit actually is right now.
Our dog really likes these little treats, what I wish they would do is say how many treats are in a jar so I can know how many are there, knowing the pounds don’t tell me how many there are or about how long they will last me.

  • Give me chicken with Duck

    Posted on by Gav

Tonight I will be doing chicken and duck for Otis. They are from the whiskas all natural and boy does it look good. Duck is a very greasy bird, so this should help make Otis hair very shinny if he eats a lot of the duck on, or it will make him stinky one of the 2.
It’s amazing the quality of meat that Wiskas uses for pet food. All the fating food I am giving Otis, he might need some Fenphedra or a kitty equivalent of it. The chicken in duck smells good and looks good too. I think they are using good parts of the birds to use for pets which is the way it aught to be. One thing I am surprised to see in all of the Whiskas naturally made stuff is they all have wheat gluten. I wonder what they are using that for maybe for thickening the sauce.

  • Purrfectly Chicken Whiskas

    Posted on by Gav

It’s amazing what this food looks like, you can tell Whiskas is using real chicken meat. The meat is tender and boy does Otis eat it a little to quickly. This food has a lot of vitamins for the cat and it works nice as a treat so Otis doesn’t feel like he not getting something special because the dog won’t eat his food unless I cover it with what food.
Otis likes his dry food and eats both of them willingly. The packages are a lot smaller then the dogs packages of food. I wonder if the stuff in this helps urinary tract stuff in cats to keep them from vaginal dryness. This is made in natural juices and it smells yummy too. Not that I would want to eat it. Each package is about 3 ounces and 1 package for every 5 pounds of cat, yeah when you have a cat like Otis your looking at 4 packets a day. That would get very expensive so I just give him it one package a day with his cat food. Since I am using it more as a treat. When I tried perfectly chicken it didn’t make Otis sick so it’s good for him so far.

  • I want some

    Posted on by Gav

Recently I decided I would try a wet food for my cat, since he been upset with me that the dog is getting wet food but not him. Otis has a sensitive system, it took me forever to find him dry good that would work for him. A few weeks ago I was looking at some wet food and found something from Whiskas which was all natural so I decided to give it a try and it worked.
I will have to say I am amazed at the quality that seems to be there. I am not used to seeing animal food looking almost as good as some stews I have made or eaten. The meat is nice and tender and smells almost good. I wonder what kind of food Anaheim California hotel and if it’s as appetizing as this cat food is here. I am temped to try it. Don’t worry I will not.
Tonight I gave Otis the Chicken Beef Entree, Otis loved it and ate it pretty quickly. The meat has both while chicken meat and some beef meat, you can tell the difference. They are nice little chunks of meat and it’s in gravy.
What I do not like about it is that if this was the only food Otis would eat, he’d need 4 pouches a day at least, good thing I am just using it as a treat to distract him long enough for doggy to finish her food. One package a day and then as much dry food he wants through out the day will work nicely.the Purrefectly Chicken by Whiskas has a nice smell and looks good. Otis thinks it taste good because he eats it pretty quickly. This is prepared in natural juices which is good and probably healthier for Otis.

  • What a relief

Yesterday I had to take dads dog to the vet. We didn’t exactly have a lot of money to spend but we needed her to go in right away. I saw a worm in her poop and she was acting tired and just not lively like a small dog aught to act. I got concern and was very worried that Otis was exposed to them to. Otis is an older cat who is behind on everything because I felt as long as Otis wasn’t exposed to an other animal we do not have to worry about keeping up on everything. Otis has a good home but for some reason I just don’t like rabies or distemper and just haven’t found any needs to get those shoots. If the animal isn’t exposed why put it through all that stuff Otis get stressed out when having to drive anywhere and I’d rather not upset the cat.
Dad served in World War 2 and has lived in some very unsafe environments for him. When Shadow was lift at one of the homes we didn’t realize they would also abuse the dog. Maybe we should have figured it out sooner, but we didn’t think they do that because her animals looked healthy and acted loved so we thought Shadow would be safe. When Shadow was picked back up, her eye was caved in, she was being treated with what we found out later to be human eye drops. I was worried talking Shadow to the vet and being accused of harming her in an unspeakable way.
When I was taking Otis to the vet I took him to Banfield Veterinary clinic in St. Paul, but know that a little far away so I called the one over by us in Richfield I believe. It’s right off of 494 and Lyndale. We got Shadow in to the vet, and explained to them what our concerns was, and asked many questions. They answered a lot of our question. After the examination our vet called for a consult about the dogs eyes. I had told the vet I’ve done something to see what Shadow response would be, which normally most dogs would bite or try too. Shadow responses has always been licking me, and the vet tech said that a calming gesture! Licking is supposed to calm and relax people so she trying to do that and it’s good that she like that. Shadow is very gentle. We waited in the room for a long time. They came back a few times to let me know what was going on. They told me it was a Tapworm would Otis wouldn’t catch, because it from fleas. I said but the dog has no fleas, and never did as fair as I knew. I wouldn’t be surprised if she did at some point and I didn’t know about it. I had to tell my husband if the dog had fleas I would have hives from it.
After awhile they came in and said they did some calling around and because of dad situation to help us out they where going to cover the cost for their basic pet insurance. They want to do a full work up on Shadow, which is probably needed and a good idea, and the insurance will cover it. After a while the vet came back in to explain to hubby, dad and I the dogs eye would need to come out, which is a costly surgery. I said Okay well do what’s needed, and my husband told me there goes your laptop this was before we found out about the insurance, I told Craig no I will make dad save up for it. But Craig knows me well, I wouldn’t make dad save up for it, I would save up for it and sacrifice my laptop if the dog needs it. It’s taken us some time to accept the fact Shadow has been damaged beyond repair. There is no fixing Shadow eye, it has to come out because it causing the dog pain, and we decided we would just sew it up. I teased about it saying the Dog would be a pirate, trying to make it easier to deal with, but honestly it not I want to cry more then try to not be angry. I am angry at the people who had her. Banfield shouldn’t have to do a surgery on a 8 pound dog because some donkey decided they had a right to kick the dog in the head, the dog shouldn’t be blind in one eye. But no people don’t know their buts from a whole in the ground.
After awhile the vet came back in with some options and to let us know that the animal insurance was covered through their charitable pets program. This helps dad and us a lot. Thank goodness now I can save up for my laptop easier. I am a full time college student so them helping out dad helps me out….. The vet had told us that their is a new doctor who never done this type of surgery and they want her to do it for credit which means the surgery would be free but the anesthesiology would cost us about 200-300. Okay this is a lot more doable. I am thankful Banfield decided to help Shadow and dad out. Hopefully one day I will finally work have my master and have a better job so I can donate to them. I know my dad and us aren’t the only ones being helped. I know when I adopted Otis from the humane Society that is how I found Banfield, that was over 10 years ago.

  • Pedigree Cassersole Noddle Vege, Little Champions

    Posted on by Gav

Recently dad dog moved in with us. I have spoke about her on all of my pages. I decided to put her on Pedigree, I have heard a lot of good stuff about pedigree and it not expensive but not the cheapest neither. The dog doesn’t like dry food because she got a lot of table food over her life, well I have trained her begging is not okay, at least it seems like she learning it. Today eating lunch she stayed on the coach and let us eat so that’s a plus. We do not want her getting table foods because then Otis will want it and go for anything the dog leaves behind which means Otis get sick, so we make the same rule for Otis and Shadow. Otis is my cat, very sweet cat, he finally has learned to beat up the dog.
Shadow the dog was refusing to eat her dried food and she already such a small dog I started worrying about her not having enough calories for the energy she needs through the day. I decided to get some wet food. I decided to get the variety package from Pedigree and see what one shadow like, she likes all flavors so I will probably just stick to getting the variety package for her. One of them that has impressed me and make me think gee this is better then some of the meals I make is the Casserole Dinner with Beef Noodles and Vegetables. This has some good performance parts, and it seems shadow eats this one the fastest. It has beef byproducts, carrots noodles, peas, and a bunch of other stuff. Shadow seems to like it, there is a little bit of water in the package so it like a thick chili.
I think this would almost make a nice stew except it would need potatoes and onion but I don’t think those are good for dogs. This even had a little bit of garlic. Otis doesn’t go into Shadows dish so even though this is close to table food Otis will not eat it. Now I know Otis wants some wet food but there is no wet food out their for a cat with a sensitive system like Otis. Hopefully one day they will make wet food for pets with sensitive systems.
