Trade in Credits are great, this is why my husband and I get some games we want to try. This week we decided Prince of Persia for the PS3 would be fun to try. It’s action based and the battles aren’t to hard. So far the same been fairly easy to complete most of the battles I have had so far.
The graphics are cool, my favorite part of the game is watching the land be healed and suddenly grow green stuff with flowers and butterflies it neat. The beginning of the game is dark and grim looking which gets the point across well.
Most of the activities they want you to complete is fairly easy but there are some challenges in the game like getting all the spirit lights or what ever there called because some of them take some creativity.
So far in the same there is no way to upgrade your armor or weapons which sometimes it be nice to do that, or have different options.
Your companion is the princess and her father is crazy. The princess can use magic and saves the prince a lot. I am still not sure of his story or what he doing and why.
To bad the PS3 isn’t more like a POS system. The one thing I don’t much care for is earning trophies for Saving the same the first time and a couple of other trophies that just don’t seem like accomplishments. It’s nice to earn trophies but for saving the game, that is the easiest part of the game.

  • Disgaea PS3

Disgaea try saying that a couple of times fast with out getting your tongue all twisted up. This is a cute little game, it’s got the absent of justice idea of all evil but the characters are so cute and funny it cute.
This game is all strategy based so there no action in this game so it’s not one I would probably enjoy playing I might there’s a few games like that. I enjoy watching hubby playing the game.
The graphics are pretty good and your characters look like little cute monsters. If the designs of this game wanted people to think evil, I think they missed the mark. Some of the sayings in this little game is funny and they are cute. A good percentage of the game seems to be in a class room that looks like a Slingbox. Your partners sit in their groups where they are the best together so it probably wise to keep your team from class room the same. At least that what I gather from what hubby said to me the other day.
I think this game is good for Teen like the box said maybe even preteen would be okay.

  • Silent Hill Home Coming PS3

One word creepy! Good creepy, I watch my husband play this game, I might try to play it not sure haven’t decided yet, but it looks like a game I would enjoy it’s action based, which is a plus in my book.
Lets see your character is x-military, but we are not sure what he is know, is he a cop, doctor or detective of some sort who knows. He seems to be following a little boy and runs into undead people he has to fight of. It seems the entire hospital staff is now undead and that is where the game begin. There is some radio communication going on, which makes it even more creepy because who is speaking to him sounds unnerving. The sounds quality is pretty good and the graphics are great, the people look like people and the dead well you can tell they are dead. The man is on a gurney at the start with what appears to be a pipe on his chest but for some reason it does not become a weapon. I can’t wait till hubby and I can get a lcd monitor type TV because I think it would make playing some of these games more fun.
Eventually your guy gets a piece of glass to fight of undead but they don’t start coming until after you have something to defend yourself. This game I would not recommend for a young viewer, it simply creepy enough and the people who are zombies look to human like. I the rating on this game is good, Mature + 17… Hubby tries not to play this game before we go to be because he worries it might cause me nightmares, LOL I think he worried about himself having nightmares and trying to project it on me.

  • Eternal Sonata PS3

    Posted on by Gav

Eternal Sonata is based on Chopins life, there are a couple of main characters. All of the character have musical names, either style or music expression. The game is the same as it is on the XBox 360 pretty much, but it is fun and the graphics are great. The battle scenes are similar they are action with turn based mixed in. I like this style of game.
I would say this game is a good game that is for teen and I think that’s a good age but I believe it might be okay for a preteen to play it to, there is no real graphic things in it. The magic user in this game are ill or something and it’s chopins dream or something.
The shops are great and they have some discount furniture and you can create different things at the shops unless I am mixing this game up with another game.
The graphics are better on the PS3, and the sounds is better to. I think the PS3 overall has better quality then the Xbox, sorry but it just my opinion. The gaming is about the same but I think the PS3 controllers takes a little longer to get used to then the Xbox I don’t know why but it was for me. In the PS3 you can earn trophies so they are starting to catch up to the Xbox as far as gamer points.

  • Lord of the Rings Conquest Xbox 360

    Posted on by Gav

Let me start by saying normally games like this I enjoy, but not this one as much. The warrior is probably the easiest character to be and their battles for novice are ridiculously hard. When you die over and over that not my idea of fun, and frankly in the beginning of a quest it should not be that hard.
The graphics are great, although I don’t think they did very good with the recreation of some of the heroes. The graphics are a POS with the game. I think the sound voice to music is okay but the voice in the background is annoying. Maybe it be more fun to play it with out any words but then how do you know what is expected or needed. They have little yellow arrows leading your character to where you need to go. The first 10 to 20 minutes of the game isn’t to bad but it’s once you get to the 3rd part of the Mages quest where you have to destroy the fire machine but yet you have more enemies then you have people helping your character, so it’s next to impossible to destroy it.
Your first hero is either going to have to be a archer or a swords man, I prefer sword man for this quest. The next quest is mage, archer or warrior. Mage is good but I am wondering if warrior would be easier in the 3rd part of the quest.
I did the training for this and the training is very frustrating, I decided I would do some game playing and see what I think. The game is better then the training part because the graphics are cool and you get some story about the Lord of the Rings with it.
I am not sure if I would recommend this game, to me it wasn’t fun because it not like you get to accomplish much over time. I think the biggest problem with the game was it was hard to tell when you needed to LB which is LB or RB because it was not very clear on the screen.

  • The Last Remnant

    Posted on by Gav

My husband and I recently got the Last Remnant for the Xbox 360. I will say the graphics are a little below what I would have liked seing them althrough they were still good graphics. The character you start with is Rush, I would say he a teenager and is full of an attitude but he’s trying to save what apears to be his little sister so he a good boy maybe acts a little bit like a kid and rushes into things he aught not.
His first battles will be done with a rather strong group, and most battles if you have a good strategy to begin with you’ll be able to conquer them. Watch your health closely because if Rush dies the game is over, no one in his party can raise him from the dead. I do not like this fact, if he has a party member in his group still alive he should be allowed to be resurrected by his team mate, expecially when some of the battles are close to impossible to bet with out deing at least once.
To get people in your party you need to go to the local guild. I got everyone I could right away, I figure get backup would be good.
Rush doesn’t want to call the prince of athalum David, he likes calling him Dave, not sure, and Davids people don’t like the disrespect but they are pretty much ordered to play nicely.
Rush after the first part of the game will be able to get some companion of his own, they will give him diet supplements to restore his health. Make sure if he looks like he might get low or has a lot of enemys around him that you comand him to watch his HP even if that means you fall out of dead lock. I have yet to earn any achievements on this game, which is good because it means achievements are not easy.
In the battle sometimes they will flash up the ybxa do not hit it to fast wait till it tells you, I have found a hard time of not hitting it before they show me which button or trigger I need.
The game is okay my favorite character sofar is mr. diggs. He’s trouble for a town but looks like Rush adopts him and puts him to work digging for stuff. This is good for Mr. Diggs because he can’t bug the shop keepers of this town and good for you because he finds you medals and other items in the ground or cave walls.

  • Persona 4

    Posted on by Gav

Recently we where sent an copy of Persona 4 to share our opinion of it. Normally I do not like games unless I get to go exploring in the game. My preffered style of attacks are swords and magic use. I tend to be more of a magic user in some games and other a sword user. Persona 4 for PS 2 is different then most games I would normally want to play. Not enough exploring and not enough action in the battle field, but for some reason I want to keep finding out where the story is headed, so I play. I think they did a good job with the story line because it stays fairly interesting.

You get to name your character in the game, I didn’t realize he would be male so my character got a woman name, serves him right.  The game starts out with him starting a new school because he has to live with his uncle, before he gets there he has a strange dream in a velvet room. Eventually he starts learning what the dream means and he battling shadows in the Tvland, these shadows are I guess best way to put it your evil half or a half of you, you don’t want to admit to having. If you deny it’s apart of you it gets ugly and tries to distroy you, be ready for a battle. Lets just put it this way you will always have a battle because none that you want to save want to admit to their bad half of their personality.

Right know the first boss battle I haven’t exactly figured out the best way to defeat him, it’s a horse and my goodness he ugly can wipe me out in one hit. The question I have is what did I do wrong to begin with, I will figure it out soon enough. This game requires strategy so I just have to think through a couple of ways for me to do it. I gotten all the way up to the boss battle, so I just have to figure out how to kill him, and then move on.

The graphics in this game to me don’t seem to impressive out of tv land, Tvland is strange. I like to know what’s up with the bear there, he seems empty, he is empty.  Pick wisely what items you want to get better, I didn’t and ended up with upgrading all my weapons when it should have been upgrading armor for the 2 boys. The girl who joins has chain mill which is wierd that she already equiped with it when the other two are not. Your character starts off with Seiko watches, which is great for telling time but not to give him any added benefits.

  • Fallout 3 PS3

    Posted on by Gav

Trade in credits are great, when hubby and I get a review we don’t like we normally trade them in and then save the trade in credits until we can get something we want. We have been wanting this game since we knew about it. We loved Oblivion, and I think everything else form this company hubby and I have enjoyed.
My hubby started out as a woman, and it’s a little different, I started out as a male and changed my sex because I found as a male responses where a little more ruder. You get sereval types of weapons you can use to kill animals or people who are attacking you for no good reason. Finding your first location is hard, after you get out of the vault but not to hard.
Pretty much what it is, is your character grows up in this vault and they claim no one opened it for 200 yrs or better, but then you go to the new town and you hear rumours, I don’t know about the rumars but I guess the store will play out.
Unlike in oblivion you can’t stripe them down to their skimpies, their funny t shirts and shorts are strange. It is easier to play the game more of a shoot but it seems there are never enough bullets, I wish they had magics powers in this one because I would use them a lot more. I tend to like swords, so I been using the bat as my weapon of choose.
This video game is more for mature audiences, language is a little rough but most people respond to your character ways of doing things, so if they are rude and agressive with people they are bound to get responses they deserve.
The graphics of this game was pretty good. This is not exactly like oblivion but it is good.

  • Fable 2

    Posted on by Gav

We recently got Fable 2. I will say I was surprised at the graphics. In the first scene there is a little brown bird it’s amazing how well you can see the wings. The first part of the game is a little shocking, is the best way I can put it, but it part of what shapes your character. In the beginning of the game you can choose to be good or bad, there are plenty of opportunities to taint your character which aren’t clear that you doing it until after it’s done.

Lets see in this game you can be either a man or a woman, you can have a family. Okay being a woman warrior wouldn’t that be a little unrealistic. I ended up getting married simply because I felt bad for the sap. This game does a pretty good job of making you feel for the character your playing and those around him or her. I owe 3 homes, 2 of which I am renting out. I am not being very good in the marriage because I think I focus more on the quest, maybe I will get married in another town.. LOL that sounds fun, see how long in the game I can hide it and how long it goes unpunished. Maybe I will decide to see how many kids my character can have in this game. LOL This sounds fun since it’s a girl. In the game it does the have sex very modestly, you know what they doing but not seeing. I wouldn’t recommend this for a young player but maybe a teen would be okay. This is a game like the first Fable, is based on consequences of what your character does, this can teach a lesson to young people.

The graphics of this game was done well, and the store line is pretty interesting so far. Your character carries their weapons in use but their luggage is fairly well hidden. This game causes time to disappear it’s one I probably need to set my alarm for so I stop playing it. It funnier then TV.

  • Bioshock PS3

    Posted on by Gav

Let me start by saying wow to the graphics, my husband and I do not have a HDTV, his Tv is pretty good but I will say the graphics on this was impressive. Most of the game is played in an underwater city.
The people of this city did something to themselves and now they are not really human, they will attack first and ask question when your dead. So far I have no found any friends in this world other then 2 people on the radio instructing me where to go.
This game is a little different, it can be a shooter if you want it to be, you have a chose of what weapons you use. I prefer plasma so I go through a lot of it. To get things they are on those people you kill and in vending machines so it wise to search around and collect things from people. Hack into the vending machines it is worth it. The puzzles are not hard, they are very simple as long as you pay attention to the liquid stuff moving. It took me a few tries on my first hack job but after that I was able to get it right away. The hardest things to hack into are safes, they are next to impossible to figure out.
One battle they say is going to be hard are the big daddies, they are with what called little sisters. They are hard but not that hard, once you get some specific types of plasma fire works pretty nicely. Once you get ice it pretty much stops them but I found the machine gun to be most helpful this way they can’t get you to easily. I never have killed one of the girls, but if you do you get more adams if you don’t you might get a reward from the child which is just as good. I am not sure how many adams you get when you kill them maybe I will have to try it.
I believe this game hit the 3 strike rule, but I will have to have hubby play it to make sure I was hearing it correctly. I think I do better at burning fat by using a fat burner pills then sitting on my but playing video games..
